Participation in short term teams opens a unique door to the world. Short term teams can provide a meaningful way for individuals to evaluate God’s direction for the future service as well as the opportunity for significant personal investment into the Lord’s work. God’s kingdom advances by small steps – and teams, designed, led and implemented effectively, can produce some of those steps.
ACC World Missions have developed a Short Term Teams Training Manual. This Manual is a great resource to ensure each short term team has a successful and positive missions experience.
The Short Term Teams Training Manual is available on CD for only $5 (plus postage and handling). This is incredible value, considering the years of experience, hours and expertise invested to make this CD manual a reality. The Training Manual can also be downloaded from the site (in pdf format).
The Short Term Team Training Manual includes the following sections:
- Introduction – what is a successful missions trip?
- Dreaming phase – planning and preparation
- Putting it together – setting clear expectations, leadership selection and team selection.
- Training and team building – attitudes, team work, appropriate relationships, spiritual preparation, giving your testimony in a cross-cultural setting, understanding another culture and learning their lingo. Plus application activities and questions.
- Making it work – visas, medical requirements, travel insurance, safety and security, checklists, etc.
- Team beyond the team – ensuring those who don’t go are vitally involved (through prayer support, communication, etc)
