Prayer is essential if we want to see God have his perfect will and way on the earth! God could have accomplished his plan for redemption all by himself, but he chose to use and empower us to share his love and grace with the entire world. Alone, we can do nothing, but with His help, anointing and the power of the Holy Spirit, anything is possible!
To help you pray effectively for workers on the field, even when there is a minimum amount of information given, we have developed this guide:
1. Pray for fruitfulness in ministry
Whatever role a worker fulfils on the field, pray for fruit that remains.
· Lives to be transformed by the power of the Gospel
· A strong national church and leadership to be raised up.
· The power of God to be displayed and His kingdom established.
2. Pray for victory in the midst of opposition
Many factors can lead to discouragement:
· Spiritual oppression
· Ministry overload
· Limited fellowship with other Christians
· Unresponsiveness amongst the people being reached
· Language and cultural barriers
· Attacks of Satan
3. Pray for the worker’s spiritual, physical and mental vitality
· Their personal relationship with God will be protected.
· God’s protection from sickness and accidents in travel.
· They will have sufficient rest.
· They will give time to activities that enliven and stretch them mentally, physically and spiritually.
4. Pray for the family, that husband, wife and children will be protected from sickness and other attacks of the enemy.
5. Pray for their relationships with other workers
That God’s love and patience will flow between workers, and for unity in the team.
6. Pray consistently and persistently
Pray through until you sense the Holy Spirit has answered your prayers. Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit so you can intercede on behalf of the worker when required.
Many workers testify to being saved from a potentially dangerous situation through the faithful prayers of his/her prayer partners.
